Join Us! Join HPMS PTO and make a difference at Highland Park Middle School. We are always looking for parent volunteers to help out with community event building, fundraising, and more. 

Step 1: Background Check
Becoming a volunteer at Highland Park is easy, although there are a few required steps before you are eligible.  To keep all of our students safe, the Beaverton School District requires all volunteers pass a background check. The background check is easy to do and free.

Please be aware that it takes about 2 weeks to fully process.  Once you have been approved you will receive an email with a link to available opportunities.

Step 2: Volunteer!
We are so thankful for the willingness of our parents and other community members to volunteer in our schools. Unfortunately, during Comprehensive Distance Learning, we are not allowing in-person volunteering inside our buildings. However, there are still ways to support our teachers, staff and students.

  • You can volunteer in a virtual classroom. Please know that two adult volunteers are required to be present in any virtual breakout room. Contact your classroom teacher for opportunities.
  • You can volunteer as an AVID eTutor in a virtual AVID elective classroom. This is an opportunity to facilitate a weekly student-led small-group tutorial at one of our middle, high or option schools. No experience required. If interested, fill out the online form.
  • You can volunteer at the district’s Clothes Closet which serves families in need by providing new or gently used clothing. Contact Johanna Shrout: [email protected].
  • You can volunteer at an outdoor event (while wearing a face covering and social distancing), as directed by school staff.Thank you for your continued support!
